SOMETIMES YOU FEEL LIKE A...

Nutt House Historic Hotel and Restaurant in Granbury offers seven newly refurbished luxury suites (rates include full breakfast at the Nutshell Restaurant), antique furnishings, and a massage-therapy room.

The hotel, built in 1893 by brothers Jesse and Jacob Nutt, stands at 119 E. Bridge St. and adjoins Granbury's town square, providing a fine view of the Hood County courthouse. Rates: $150-$175; 888/678/0813; www.nutt-hotel.com.

GRANBURY

Nutt House Hotel reopens

The Nutt House Historic Hotel was closed for almost a year for a luxurious face-lift. In its previous incarnation, the hotel had 15 small rooms, with bathrooms down the hall. Now it features seven large suites, each with a private bath outfitted with a large whirlpool tub. The rooms are decorated with antiques, and there are European linens on the queen- and king-size beds. Best perk: There's a massage therapist on call. (Read More)

Located in a hand-hewn limestone building erected in 1893, the restaurant – which adjoins Granbury's seven-room Nutt House Hotel – was founded in the 1960s by Mary Lou Watkins, a descendant of the Nutt family, in the home in which she and her mother were born.
